How can something be waterproof and breathable?

Our jackets are made of eVent®, a scientifically engineered fabric. The critical difference between this technology and traditional waterproof fabrics are the billions of microscopic pores built into the proprietary membrane. The pores are too small to allow droplets to pass through while it works instantly to vent water vapor — keeping you dry and comfortable in a wide range of temperatures and conditions.

Unlike other high tech fabrics, eVent has engineered a 'dry system' called Direct Venting™. As you get warm, it will start venting hot air before you notice yourself sweating. The science: other membrane fabrics wait for diffusion to move sweat out, Direct Venting doesn't. That's why there are no under-arm vents in our jackets.

Membrane fabric

The three layers of the membrane work together to block wind and water out while venting out hot air. In its final form, the outer DWR-treated shell, membrane pore layer and backing layer is light and only mere millimeters thick.

EACH JACKET WEIGHS LESS THAN 750G

Combined with the natural lightweight nature of the membrane fabric, our design and production team selects the highest quality and most durable trims and notions available on the market. The zippers, glue, thread, snaps and seam tape are among the most lightweight and durable.

As a result, each jacket weighs less than 750g and can easily pack away into it's hood for travel.
